Hi...I'm Vicki-Lynn Smith and I come from Kellyville N.S.W. My family comprises husband
Brendan, children Brittany 10, Tristan 5 (adorable family - all very supportive). When not making bears, I am a Primary school teacher (teaching art & craft part-time & making bears, as well as managing a young family). I began making bears in 1993, three years after traumatic loss of unborn daughter Rebecca Laura in a car accident. Bears brought me so much happiness and gave me a creative focus - injuries changed my life. I always enjoyed crafts & love a challenge - machine embroidery, porcelain dollmaking, silk & watercolour painting, heirloom sewing. I like to combine different skills to embellish and create a variety of different bears, and I strive to improve and develop each bear. I love textiles, fibres, exploring different media and hunting for antique accessories for bears. I enjoy making each bear a character in itself. Bearlyville was suggested as my business name by my daughter as it represents a fantasy world where my bears live - and it rhymes with Kellyville where we built our new home two years ago when I began selling bears. I wanted to enjoy my young family and achieve high results in shows before I began selling. Now, with both of them at school, I have a new challenge and a new career. I love to travel interstate & overseas to sell bears and meet other artists and collectors. These bears have been lovingly handmade as part of the Bearlyville Bears Collection. These original designs are fully made by me, and each bear is completely made with careful attention to detail. I hope you enjoy your visit to my website and I would love it if you took the time to sign my Guest Book while you're here, as it is lovely to know who is visiting, and your comments and feedback are very important to me...you will find my Guest Book on my Introduction page. Also, if you would like to be kept updated on what's happening in my little part of the Australian teddy bear world, please join my On-Line Members Club for irregular updates via my Newsletter.
